About the Author
Pam Lacko, a resident of Connecticut since birth, resides in Simsbury with her husband Jeff, two children Rebecca and Mathew and their two golden retrievers. Pam was 47 when she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and started a blog to record her experiences with surgeries, treatments and the emotional affects of her diagnosis. Although her initial intent was to utilize the blog for keeping her clients and friends informed of her progress, it became a focus of her healing and now a book containing actual events from her perspective – humor.
Pam runs a computer consulting business in Connecticut, teaches percussion to children in town and donates her spare time to helping other cancer patients in the area. Pam recently had a recurrence of her cancer and employed the numerous tips she had documented in her book and is now adding to those handy tips on her website.
Pam also wrote the article, “Prescription: Humor” for the International Journal for Healing and Caring. She hopes that one day anyone going through a significant medical event such as cancer can read this book and find something to smile about.
