Quite an entrance

I was talking with a friend of ours a couple of weeks ago and she told me that her husband was recently diagnosed with cancer.  I immediately jumped in my car and ran over there with a book and an offer to do whatever I could to help.  Days later she sent me an email with the funniest story that I have to share with you all.  For the story I will refer to the husband as Bob and the wife as Barbara.

Last week Bob had gone to the cancer center to meet his team of physicians that would be caring for him and monitoring his treatment.  While there, the doctors realized that he hadn’t been able to eat much and wasn’t going to be strong enough to start the treatment.  The solution was to admit Bob right then and there and begin strengthening his body through IV fluids and nutrition.  Barbara was relieved to have some help in getting him well so she gladly assisted the technician wheeling Bob up to the floor where he would be admitted.

To paint the picture, you need to know a little bit about Bob.  He’s an outgoing, tell you what he thinks kind of guy.  Ex-military with a short hair cut, standing about 6 feet tall, around 60 years of age.  He is an avid story teller, loves a good laugh, and is tough, tough enough to beat this.

With that said, Barbara was carrying all of their belongings in her purse and as they passed through a first floor unit of some sort, Barb bumped her purse on the gurney and apparently set off Bob’s iTunes on his phone and everyone there heard “I’m too Sexy” for the next minute until she managed to scoop it out of her purse and turn it off. Have a listen…
